Helping 100!

In my job as a coach, the most important thing I do is help people.

I am NOT a salesperson...
I am NOT an expert...
I am NOT a scam artist...
I am NOT in it just to make a buck.

However....

I AM passionate about health and fitness...
I AM knowledgeable about tools that can help people on their own health and fitness journey...
I AM still a work in progress...
I DO take joy in helping others and watching them succeed...
I DO have my clients' best interests in mind.

I simply WANT to help people.

And I do just that on multiple levels!!

I have helped many people with my free monthly challenges!
I have helped many people find a fitness program that meets THEIR needs, not mine!
I have helped people with their nutrition, and/or weight loss goals!
I have helped people by showing them how to do what I do, so they, too, can help others!

I have, and will continue to HELP whoever needs and wants my help!

In fact, I have set a goal for myself this month (JULY) to help 100 people!

YES - 100!

Maybe you will be one of them!  Maybe not.  But I would like to ask you one favour!

I would like YOU to help ME!

Cheer me on!  Don't let me give up!  If it looks like I am slacking - call me on it!
I have set a pretty lofty goal, and it is going to take some work, but I'm up for it!

And it will be worth it!

A Little Bit of Lulu!

Yes, I admit it.  I am one those women (people) who get suckered in by a brand name.  However, in my defense, I have never been disappointed by the quality or comfort of the items I have bought from Lululemon.  They last for years!
I was lucky enough to receive a very nice gift card to the store for Christmas - Thanks, Mom!  This was all the excuse I needed to add to my growing collection of fitness clothing, and allow me to retire a few items.
After trying on many items - I had some very patient friends with me - I settled on pants, a top, shorts, and a headband.

I went with the Skinny Groove Pant.  Love, love LOVE these!  They are a like a skinny jean, rather than tights, but in that lovely stretchy, sweat-wicking Luon fabric.  Like many of the pants there is a small pocket hidden in the waistband.  Perfect for an ipod or smaller sized phone (my iphone5 fits even in its case, keys or debit card,  I  like that the pocket is in the front rather than the back, making it more accessible.
The top is the Just Breathe Tank in a black leopard print.  This top is so cute!  The bra top is light support, which works fine for me, and they changed things up a bit by placing the bra elastic on the outside.  It feels light and comfy, and I am pretty sure I could use it for any of my workouts.  If you are heavier in the chest, it probably wouldn't have enough support for running or activities with lots of jumping etc., but it works for me ;)  I also really love the cute, strappy back, with the mesh insert.  Cute workout clothes like this just make you want to workout more!

Also picked up a pair of Run Times Shorts.  These are just nice, comfortable, light weight shorts.  I have a decent sized behind and thighs, but feel totally comfortable in these shorts.  A zippered pocket at the back and two hidden pockets at the front, make it possible to take along a few small items whether you are out for a run, a hike, or a walk to the park.

!
As always I left Lululemon very happy and excited with my purchases, if not a little stunned by the cost.  But, I know these items will get lots of use, and last a long time, so to me its worth it!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Valentine's Day means something a little different for everyone.  And while it still holds some of the traditional meaning around here, it also happens to be my husband's birthday.  And while he and I don't usually exchange gifts anymore, I wanted to do something special for him and for the girls this morning.

So I whipped up a batch of Pink-Chocolate Heart Shaped Pancakes!!!

They are super easy to make.  Just use your favourite pancake recipe (Aunt Jemima works too) add a scoop of Chocolate Shakeology or your favourite chocolate protein powder and some red food colouring.  To get the heart shape, make the outline of the heart first by pouring a thin line of the mix, and then fill it in.  Top with your favourite pancake toppings, and enjoy!

What are you doing for Valentine's Day?

Have You Stuck to Your Goals?

As we near the end of January, it time to check on our progress.  Have you been sticking to your goals?  Are you still working out everyday?  Are you still eating healthy foods, or has junk food started creeping back into your pantry?  Are you still making time for your family?  Have you kicked any bad habits?  It takes 21 days to create a new habit.  We are 24 days
into the New Year.  If you have been consistent with the goals you have set, you should be well on your way to developing whatever new habits you are trying to create.

If you are struggling, perhaps you need help.  If your goals are based on health and fitness, then I would love to provide my support.  I provide daily support through my accountability groups, and I can match you up with a fitness program and nutrition plan that is ideal for you and your needs.  If you would like to learn about how I can help fill out the contact form at the bottom of the page.  I can't wait to hear from you!

Making a Plan!

Well, the New Year has begun!  Like many people, I start my year with goal setting.  Notice I didn't say "resolution".  While some people may not see a difference, I do.  We all know that the success rate for New Year's Resolutions is low, and that is why I choose set goals instead.
I sit down and reflect on the things I would like to achieve in the upcoming year.  My goals stretch into different areas of my life:  health, family, business, travel, relationships, career etc.  I try to narrow down 5-10 goals I would like to reach (often some are related or connected).  I also write my goals in the present tense as if I have already achieved them.  For example:  I am down 2 pants sizes.  I am earning $_____/month in my business.  I am taking 2 family vacations this year.  I am taking a vacation with just my significant other.  I am working half time so I am more available to my family.  I have paid off my car loan.  You get the idea?
Once I have decided on my goals, the next step is break them down - backwards design them.  How am I going to meet these goals?  What will need to happen every month, week, day in order to reach success?  This is the most important step!  With out this step, I am only wishing that those things will happen.  There must be a plan!  There must be small manageable steps that I can do, and that through consistency will project me closer and closer to my goals.  Goals are reachable!  Dreams are attainable! Set your heights high, make a plan, and stick to it!  You can do it!
